Please watch our Healthy In, Healthy Out video to see the best practices Local 1747 and the Kent Regional Fire Authority are utilizing to protect our members! Also, you'll notice a guest spot by Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs! You can watch the video on Vimeo at or on Youtube at https://youtu.

VOTE YES ON KENT RFA FBC VOTE – PROPOSITION 1 What is Proposition 1? State law requires all Regional Fire Authorities to go in front of the voters to reauthorize their funding system every six years. THIS IS NOT A NEW TAX! It is simply a reauthorization of the existing voter-approved funding mechanism that is already in place.

Love helping people? Like hockey? We've got just the event for you. The Kent Firefighters Stairclimb team will be out in full force fundraising at the Seattle Thunderbirds game Saturday night! Come on out and support our stair climb team as they raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in advance of the March Firefighter Stairclimb.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society announced on April 26 the total amount raised for the Firefighter Stairclimb was a record $2.2 million. Thank you to all those who donated. Every bit raised goes towards research, patient aid and advocacy. We are proud of Local 1747's team who raised over $22,000!

A great tradition continued this morning as members of Local 1747 helped to deliver over 4,000 toys, along with stocking stuffers and stuffed animals, as part of Toys for Joy, a joint effort between the Kent RFA, Local 1747, the Kent Firefighters Foundation and our community.  The toys are delivered to close to 2,000 children who otherwise might not have such a merry Christmas.
